kind words from our Parents

The staff at YSA are incredible, and even during these anxious times, has been incredibly diligent and flexible to create a consistently engaging environment for the children. In addition, as a parent, we greatly appreciate the countless efforts and sacrifices the school has made in terms of implementing health safety guidelines and procedures.

Our children truly love YSA and we feel fortunate that the school has been very proactive addressing the concerns throughout this unusual time while keeping the children engaged safely and meeting their needs. We wouldn't get through this dire times of pandemic 2020 without YSA. We are truly blessed and very lucky to have this greatest educational opportunity!

We have been sending our son to school at Young Scholars since he was 2 1/2 years old. (He is 4 now) Ms. Teri, and the entire staff have always welcomed us with open arms, treating us more like family. Their lunch and afternoon program is always available when needed, we love pizza day! Our son looks forward to going to school everyday. He comes home so excited to tell us about the experiments they did, the crafts they created and the toys he played with in the big room. We have seen such an improvement in our son’s behavior and learning since he started here. We will definitely be sending our other two children here when they are ready.

Sending my daughter to Young Scholars Academy has been such a blessing. There is never any doubt that she is both loved and safe while she is at school. The teachers and staff are the most kind and compassionate individuals, and they are truly invested in each child’s education. The amount of time and effort they put into each day is impressive. I am always amazed by how much is accomplished in only a few hours. My daughter has flourished during her time at YSA not only academically, but socially as well. The structure and socialization provided by Young Scholars Academy are not things that can be replicated at home. It has been such a relief to be able to provide my daughter with this sense of normalcy during these most unprecedented times.

We have had 3 children attend YSA and I very highly recommend their program. The S.T.E.A.M. program launched a love of science in our daughter that has continued years after she graduated from pre-school. In fact, she was disappointed when she started Kindergarten and found that they didn’t have a science class like she enjoyed at YSA. Our kids were also enthusiastic about learning the basics of a new language in pre-school. Most of all, it is the loving environment with an equal focus on academics, helping others in need, and social/emotional learning that drew us to YSA. Part of being prepared for Kindergarten (and life!) is learning how to be a good friend, a good student, and a good citizen. Teri is warm and welcoming day after day and, together with her skilled staff, our children ran right into YSA feeling happy and ready to learn.

Evelyn is in her third and final year at YSA. It is amazing to see her growth from the young threes program to TK, where she is today. We have been so pleased with all of the teachers who have continually shown support and encouragement for our daughter and we are grateful for all of the opportunities available to her at YSA. She has enjoyed French lessons, STEAM, music, the different centers in the big room, and riding bikes and playing outside with her classmates.  While the curriculum has truly prepared Evelyn for kindergarten, YSA has also provided Evelyn with invaluable life lessons through participation in service outreach programs. Amid a year where nothing is normal, YSA continues to provide a safe and fun environment for Evelyn to play, learn and grow among her friends.

Our son, Krisztofer, has attended The Young Scholars Academy for 3 years. We found The Academy when he was three years old and he has been a full-time student ever since. This year he is attending the T-K program in preparation for the first grade next September. The Academy has been an amazing experience for Krisz both socially and academically. We love the fact that he is exposed to math, science, French and this year expanding his reading skills. The teachers and staff are fantastic and have always taken great interest in Krisz and his development. They are attentive, encouraging and caring and have built lasting relationships with Krisz. We couldn’t be happier that we found this amazing school for Krisz to begin his educational journey.

Our family has been a part of the Young Scholars Community for three years now, and we couldn’t be more thankful for it!  Our daughter started as an almost 3-year old and is now enrolled in the Transitional Kindergarten program.  She loves going to school and is learning so much from her teachers and fellow students.  She is on a path to enter kindergarten with all of the skills necessary to excel in her educational career.

We are very grateful for the teachers and Director, Teri, who each day make YSA such a special place to be a child; learning, playing, and growing.  We have every intention of sending our son next year, once he is old enough, and look forward to three more years as part of the YSA community.

Some of our favorite parts of YSA are the community service and giving back, especially during the holidays with a toy and food drive.  It’s been a great opportunity to show our children what it means to be part of a larger community and how powerful it is to be able to help others in need.  The partnership between home and school is so important and YSA exceeds our expectations each day.

I would be remiss not to mention how incredible Young Scholars has been for our family during the coronavirus pandemic.  Like many other parents we were nervous about what the school year would bring however, YSA has been nothing short of a godsend.  It has allowed our five-year-old to continue to be a child with a sense of normalcy during this crisis.  We are confident in the health and safety measures YSA has enacted and are so grateful that school has been open for in—person learning during this most difficult of times.
