Teri Limperopulos

Over the course of nearly four decades in education, Ms. Limperopulos has worked in urban and suburban school settings, taught grades Pre–K through 6, and successfully directed a turnaround initiative of a failing early childhood school.

In her role as Director of Young Scholars Academy, Teri is responsible for creating and designing the curriculum, interfacing with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, and providing high quality professional development for the faculty. She also manages operations, oversees the finances, and supports student enrollment with several initiatives.

Beginning with the end in mind, Ms. Limperopulos mapped backwards, and wrote a pre-school curriculum that seamlessly aligned with the skills and competencies required for successful assimilation into the public school’s kindergarten program. Further, Ms. Limperopulos created periodic assessments to evaluate student progress, and used assessment data to drive differentiation of instruction by incorporating a variety of texts, technology, approaches, and instructional materials.

Message from the Founding Director

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our school. With an early childhood curriculum that was designed to meet the unique learning needs of all of our students, our teachers guide their classes through thematic units and long term projects of study. Allowing for exploration of various content areas, the teachers and their classes rotate through classrooms that are designated for a particular theme.

Parents can count on us immersing their children in a stimulating, nurturing environment that encourages cognitive, emotional, and social development through interactive play and authentic learning. Children have fun when presented with learning experiences that allow them to engage in activities that are well planned and developmentally appropriate. Children are naturally inquisitive. Therefore, activities that promote learning through the inquiry process stimulate students’ natural curiosity, leaving them interested, excited, and enthusiastic about school and learning.

I invite you to visit the Academy so you can experience first hand the warm and nurturing environment that makes the school so special.
